Malaysia Airlines launches A350 flight from London to Kuala Lumpur
Malaysia Airlines launched its inaugural Airbus A350 from London Heathrow at 9.30pm yesterday evening, arriving in Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 6.30pm (all times local).
To celebrate the launch of the inaugural flight, the airline hosted a reception for trade partners and key stakeholders including representatives from Khazanah, Malaysian High Commission, Malaysia Tourism Board, Airbus, Liverpool Football Club, ASC and Heathrow among others, at its Golden Lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 4.
The launch was also attended by Malaysia Airlines chief executive officer, Izham Ismail and other senior managers at the airline.
Commenting on the inaugural flight, CEO Izham Ismail, said: “We boast one of the most modern fleets in Asia and are delighted to have the A350 now operating on our London route. The aircraft has been especially designed for long-haul routes, and will offer our customers a superior travel experience with enhanced levels of comfort, privacy and functionality.”
The Malaysia Airlines A350 is configured in a three-class layout, with four new First Class seats, 31 Business Class seats, and 251 Economy Class seats. The A350s will gradually replace the airline’s A380s serving the London route by March 2018.
It is the most spacious aircraft in the airline’s fleet with added leg room and extra wide cabins featuring superior air quality, a quieter environment and intelligent mood lighting. The A350 offers the latest in aircraft innovation with superior connectivity thanks to onboard WIFI and upgraded in-flight entertainment, featuring the latest blockbuster films displayed on HD screens.

Malaysia Airlines operates between Kuala Lumpur and London twice daily.
