IT’S EVERY BEER LOVER’S DREAM. Soon, they can pull a beer from the comfort of their hotel rooms.
Last year, Scottish beer manufacturer BrewDog generated buzz when they launched an Indiegogo campaign to create the “world’s first crowdfunded craft beer hotel”. At that time, plans for a 50-room hotel that would be attached to their Ohio brewery were underway.

But it looks like people will be able to experience a beer hotel sooner.
The independent craft brewer recently acquired a piece of property in Scotland that will house their first beer hotel, The DogHouse.
The Guardian quoted BrewDog co-founder James Watt as saying, “The DogHouse is our gift to passionate craft beer fans making the pilgrimage to our brewery in Aberdeenshire. The idea of opening a beer hotel has always been high on our agenda and now we are finally able to realize that dream, right here at our HQ.”
“This will be the ultimate destination for craft beer fans seeking hops with their holidays. This is a beer nirvana.”
The nearly decade-old BrewDog is known to be controversial with is marketing strategies, aggressively promoting its products and pulling crazy publicity stunts.
The multinational brewer once unveiled the world’s strongest beer (at the time), a 55 percent ABV limited edition India pale ale (IPA), and each bottle came packed inside a dead squirrel. A couple of years later, BrewDog dropped dozens of taxidermy “fat cats” from a helicopter over London during peak hour to celebrate its latest crowdfunding record.
There’s nearly nothing that its founders wouldn’t do.
The DogHouse is expected to make waves when it opens, with 26 rooms that offer an “immersive” craft beer experience.
Each room will offer views of the brewery and come equipped with beer taps and showers with built-in fridges. Not only will guests have access to cold brews from the comfort of their rooms, they will also never go empty-handed – even in the shower.
Guests will have to challenge themselves to maintain a certain level sobriety as the hotel will feature top beers from BrewDog as well as craft beers from some of the brewery’s favorite companies.
The DogHouse is slated to open its doors early 2019.
BrewDog’s Ohio property, which will also feature beer taps, shower fridges, and suites that come with beer-filled hot tubs, will open in the second half of 2019.
The brewer also has plans to build breweries in Australia and China, as well as 15 new craft beer venues in the UK and a dedicated craft beer TV network.
