MOST travelers think of Bali when they hear of Indonesia. And who can blame them?

Bali is one of Southeast Asia’s most enchanting islands, boasting a multitude of exotic religious sites, warm hospitality and highly developed arts, including traditional and modern dance, sculpture, painting, leather, metalworking, and music.

Aside from cultural and spiritual charm, the island is also known for the beachside city of Kuta with lively bars; popular resort towns Seminyak, Sanur, and Nusa Dua; cliff-guarded “hidden” shores of Uluwatu, Padang Padang, Dreamland, and Bingin; and yoga and meditation retreats.

However, as one of the world’s largest archipelagos, Indonesia boasts over 17,000 islands and endless adventure for those who are looking to travel off the beaten track. This means there is way more to the country than the famous tropical paradise island.

Agoda has listed out a few of the hidden gems in Indonesia, suited for different kinds of travelers.
