Niseko Village reopens for White Season 2017
This week, Niseko Village in Japan, with its small villages and private onsen spas, reopened for the 2017 season.
Sited at the south base of the 1308m Mount Niseko Annupuri, Niseko Village sits within the Niseko united ski area that accesses inter-linked ski resorts boasting a combined 2,191 acres of skiable terrain.
Sister city to St. Moritz in Switzerland, Niseko comprises eight Kasara Niseko Village Townhouses, the Hilton Niseko Village, The Green Leaf Niseko Village, spa and onsen facilities, a dining and retail village hub, the skifield and Niseko Village Snow School.
Food and beverage services include Japanese favourites such as ramen and udon, sashimi, Hokkaido seafood and yakitori at ski-in, ski-out venue Two Sticks. Pirka teppanyaki restaurant serves beef, seafood and vegetables on an open grill.
Accommodation options include Kasara Niseko Village Townhouses, a collection of townhouses featuring design principles of ‘shibumi’, a simple, subtle aesthetic and personal resident concierge with personal ski and snowboard locker.
‘Mizuno no Sawa’ provides some of the steepest runs and deepest powder in Hokkaido with its specially controlled terrain, and Ageimo, the new 1.2km ski run, is suitable for beginners.
