Minor Hotels was established in 1978 when it took Pattaya’s Royal Garden Resorts (presently Pattaya Marriott Resort & Spa) under its wing followed by the development of acclaimed properties in the years that followed including Regent Bangkok (presently Anantara Siam Bangkok) and The Royal Garden Village Hua Hin.

The group has over 150 hotels and resorts or the equivalent of 19,000 rooms under its helm, a triumphant feat for a brand that found its footing from humble beginnings. Plus, the brand has expanded beyond its initial base operation of Thailand: Minor Hotels properties are peppered in not just centered in Asia Pacific; the Middle East, the Indian Ocean, Europe, and South America have welcomed their own properties over the years.

Some of the brands under the group umbrella include Anantara, AVANI, Oaks, Elewana Collection, Four Seasons, JW Marriott, St Regis, and Radisson Blu. Last year was a milestone year for the brand for successfully acquiring Tivoli Hotels and Resorts with a portfolio of 12 hotels in Portugal and two in Brazil. Soon, the Anantara and AVANI brands will also get carried to South America, while Tivoli will get a feel of Asia Pacific.
